Don Hunt taught sculpture and ceramics at Madison West HS from 1968 to 2002. During his tenure he was credited with developing an award winning ceramics program, the Colucci Art Gallery, numerous permanent art installations and renovations.

Hunt received his B. A. in Art Education from Luther College, Decorah , Iowa and in 1989 a M.F.A. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. There he was honored with the Outstanding Recent Graduate of the Year award from the School of Education. He served as a lecturerer in the Ceramics Department in 2003. In 1998,the Wisconsin Art Education Association selected him as the Art Educator of the Year.

Don Hunt has been the Artist in Residence for Bethel Horizons, Dogeville, WI since 1968. He also has developed the Communing with Clay Workshops now in its 26th season. in these sessions intergenerational students of clay come together to inspire and learn from each other.

Hunt now serves as the Director of Programs and Development for Bethel Horizons Art Ventures. The 75 acre Art Ventures site has a ceramics program with residencies, workshops, and seminars in clay. Hunt exhibits locally and nationally. He has work in Jura Silverman Gallery in Spring Green, WI, Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, SC, and Higher Fire Gallery in Madison, WI.
