Our 26th year of bringing beginners to advanced clay lovers and guest artists together to use a state of the art ceramics facility with over 30 electric wheels, two slab rollers, clay extruders with gas, electric Raku and wood fire kilns. Design your own firing aesthetics. Taught by experienced award-winning instructors of ceramics with MFA’s.

Each associate instructor will provide their own focus topic.

Adamah Summer Workshop by Andrée Valley with guest artist: Bacia Edelman

Vapor Glazing: Form and Color
Vapor glazed surfaces are texturally exciting with infinite color possibilities. Surface decoration techniques will be explored using slips, stains, oxides and colored clays. Workshop participants will explore idea development, integrating surface and form through hands-on projects that are hand-built or wheel-thrown. A wood fired vapor kiln will be fired during the workshop.

Guest artist Bacia Edelman will show how to texture surfaces by pulling curled wire through a block of clay and how to combine slabs with thrown parts to form pouring vessels and teapots.
